We'll need two documents in your name from you as well as a selfie. It's important we do so as we are a regulated money service business and this is a requirement for operating our kind of service in Canada. It’s the law.
They must be original, electronic documents, such as e-bills, e-statements, etc., dowloaded from your provider's website. Non-electronic documents will not be accepted.
The documents cannot be a scan, photocopy or picture of a paper document.
Please send us 2 documents, one Category A and one Category B document.
- Utility bill (electricity, water, internet or phone)
- Benefits statement
- Credit card statement
- Bank statement
- Mortgage or loan account statement
Please also send a selfie while holding your passport or driver's license alongside a paper with "Shakepay" and today's date written on it. Please make sure that the picture is clear and that we can easily see your name on the ID.
Please email both the electronic documents and the selfie to our secure email firstname.lastname@example.org along with your username in the message.
The verification department will process your documents and reply to your email in 1 business day.
